A lot of money, energy and creativity are invested in a car before it ever comes off the assembly line. The first step in creation of a new line of vehicles is the manufacture of the prototype. This is then displayed in a well-known auto show. Depending upon how the public reacts and other factors, the prototype may or may not make production.
